Working with Image Menu Links

You can either choose to display an image as either:

  • a Menu Link without any text, or
  • as the prefix for Menu Link text.

To do so, first sign into your website's Dashboard.

Next, select the Menus button to open the Menus screen.

Select a Menu, a Menu Item and then the Link Type tab (see examples below).

Display an image as a Menu Link without text

Note: this example assumes you want to display an image.

Tip: we recommend using the WebP format to help improve page load speed.

Scroll down to Link Image.

Browse for an image to display alongside the Menu Link.

Toggle the Display Menu Item Title setting from Yes to No to display an image without text as the Menu Link.

Display an image as the prefix for Menu Link text

Note: this example assumes you want to display a Font Awesome Icon.

Here are two examples:

font awesome search

Scroll down to Link Icon Class.

Add a link icon class reference.

In this example: 'fa fa-search', to display a search icon.

To display a home icon for a Menu Link to the website Home Page we could instead add 'fa fa-home'.
