The FileSystem - Local Plugin enables you to define one or multiple local directories to store your media files.
By default, following changes introduced with Joomla! 5.3.0, it defines two directories: "images" and "files".
If you have updated your website to Joomla! 5.3.0 from an older version then you may only see one directory listed on the FileSystem - Local screen: "images".
If yes then you can use the plus (+) button to add "files" to the list.
If and when you do then also check your website's Media Options settings.
