The Joomla! 5 CMS improved the experience of website administrators with the introduction of a new Dark Mode accessibility feature.
After updating their website to Joomla! 5, administrators with the Dark Mode option selected in their browser will see the Joomla! CMS Dashboard displayed in Dark Mode.
Previously, the default display setting was Light Mode and could not be changed.
This new feature is made possible by the new improved Atum Administrator Template.
Result: the Joomla! Dashboard is now more accessible to the widest possible audience.

Dark Mode Switch
Joomla! 5.1 introduced a Dark Mode Switch to enable administrators to override the default setting:
- Follow OS Settings
with their own preference when logged into their website's Dashboard.
The switch can be made using the Dark Mode option under the Colour Settings tab.
See image below.
Administrators can now switch between Dark Mode and Light Mode whenever they choose,
To do so, open the System Dashboard screen.
Then select Administrator Template Styles.
Next select the Atum Template.
And the Colour Settings tab.
