Tip 1: Use Firefox web browser with Enhanced Tracking Protection enabled to block social media trackers and other cookies.

Read this if you use a proprietary Search Engine
Proprietary search engines store your search history stretching back to the year dot unless you update your User Account Privacy Settings. Here's how.
Google users
Sign in and click the Data & privacy link (see image below) to edit your account's Privacy Settings.
If you have more than one Gmail account then you will need to separately sign in to edit the Privacy Settings for each.

Bing users
Sign in and click the Privacy button to edit your account's Privacy Settings.
