Search engines have a habit of storing users' search histories stretching back to the year dot unless users update their User Account Privacy Settings.

Google

Sign in and click the Data & privacy link (see image below) to edit your account's Privacy Settings.

If you have more than one Gmail account then you will need to separately sign in to edit the Privacy Settings for each.
