Be on the look out for anything unusual
If you administer a website on behalf of a business or organisation then we recommend that you constantly monitor for:
- unusual website behaviour,
- unexpected website content,
- unexplained files in the File Manager of your hosting control panel.
If you observe anything unusual, assume the worst, but don't panic.
If you have been backing up your website on a regular basis then it will be possible to restore a 'clean' backup if you suspect your website has been hacked.
