The Joomla! Project announced in 2022 that it will continue its policy of issuing a new minor release (example: 5.0.1) every six months.
And it will continue releasing major new versions (example: 5.0) every two years.
Joomla! 5.0 was released in 2023.
Joomla! 6.0 will be released in 2025, and so on.
"Having fixed months which are reliable helps everyone plan."
The months of release will in future be April and October in order to avoid the summer holidays in both the northern and southern hemispheres.
