Joomla! Help Support Warrington Cheshire Manchester Merseyside UKIt's not easy when you first start getting to grips with creating website content in a Joomla! CMS website, despite the plethora of user guides, including the ones included in this website.

There is a lot to think about.

And maybe too many buttons to press!

Sometimes you just can't seem to see the proverbial wood for the trees - even when you are an experienced user.

Experienced website administrators may even want to begin creating their own Guided Tours.

What is a Guided Tour and how will it help?

The Guided Tours Plugin is provided to help you when performing tasks in your website's Dashboard.

When the Guided Tours Plugin is enabled, a Take a Tour button is displayed at the top of the screen - see images below.

Available Guided Tours

The image below shows the range of Guided Tours included with Joomla! 5.1.0.

It is anticipated that the number of available tours will increase over time.

And you can create your own!

The above below two Guided Tours have been included for this purpose:

The Benefits of using a Guided Tour

It is so much easier to understand and follow a Guided Tour than to refer only to help pages.

Each Step in a Guided Tour identifies the relevant point of interest and focuses your attention on what needs to be done next as you follow a Tour through to completion of the task it relates to.

Example: creating a new Article.

This is one of the first things you will want to do when you start adding website content - so this Guided Tour should be extremely popular!

Try using the Guides and we guarantee that like us you will love using this great new tool :)

How to hide the Guided Tours Feature

When you become proficient using your website's Dashboard, you may wish to turn off this feature until you need to use it again.

For example: when the developer of a 3rd party extension creates a Guided Tour of their extension (with which you are not familiar).

This can be done via the Plugins screen.

The Guided Tours Feature is enabled by default in Joomla! 4.3 (and subsequent versions).
