Email problems whilst travelling overseas

When travelling abroad you may occasionally be unable to send mail from your email client, depending upon the geographic region.

A QUICK FIX which usually works in this instance is to change the email client's outgoing mail settings for your email account.

Request alternative outgoing mail settings from your hosting company's technical support before travelling.

Things to do BEFORE you travel

1) Create a standby email account with a FREE webmail provider like Google

You can do this from anywhere in the world that has internet access but we recommend doing so before you travel.

Register a standby email account with a FREE third party provider like Google (Example: gmail).

Such an email account can be accessed directly via your web browser.

If the local ISP in a country is blocking the outgoing mail port used by the email client on your device, you can still send messages via this alternative email account.

2) Check you know how to use our WEBMAIL service

You can send, receive and manage email without using an email client (like Outlook) when you visit the server directly.

To do this, visit

3) Get help

If you regularly travel overseas and are concerned about email connectivity, you may wish to contact your hosting provider's technical support before you go.

They will usually recommend some alternative Host Address settings which you may use.
