How to create an Image Folder
Before you upload an image you need somewhere to store it i.e. a folder (or directory).
You can create as many folders as you like for storing your images.
And you can create folders within folders.
Media Screen vs Content Editor
Here we tell you how to create an image folder whilst working with the JCE Content Editor.
Image folders may alternatively be created via the Media screen.
How to create an image folder
Avoid using UPPERCASE and spaces.
For complex names, insert a hyphen (or dash).
After entering a name, select OK.
How to re-name an Image Folder
You cannot re-name an Image Folder using the JCE Content Editor.
To re-name an image folder you would have to:
- empty the existing folder before you can delete it,
- delete the existing folder,
- create the replacement folder using the new name,
- replace the removed images.
This is not something you want to do every day!
Worse, when you re-name an image folder you break the links from any articles presenting images contained in the re-named folder!
Reparing broken image links can be tedious.
How to re-name an Image
It is possible to re-name an image using the JCE Content Editor.
But again, re-naming will break existing links to the image from any articles in which re-named images are being presented.
These links will need to be repaired before the re-named image will be visible in your website.
