Hacker News advise update MS Windows immediately to patch new 0-Day attacks

The Hacker News report that Microsoft has "rolled out security patches to contain a total of 71 vulnerabilities in Microsoft Windows and other software, including a fix for an actively exploited privilege escalation vulnerability that could be exploited in conjunction with remote code execution bugs to take control over vulnerable systems."

Two of the flaws are rated Critical and 68 are rated Important. The update addresses four zero-day attacks.

A zero-day attack patch is issued by developers when they discover a flaw which has been exploited without their knowledge.

The Joomla! Project pre-announce stable release date for Joomla! 4.1

The Joomla! Project has pre-announced the development programme for the next generation of the Joomla! CMS: Joomla! 4.1.

Joomla! 4.1 Alpha 1 was released today for developers to be able to test their extensions and report any issues before the stable version is released.

Important: The alpha version of Joomla 4.1 is not suitable for production sites; it is for testing only.

When is the Stable version planned for release?

On or around the 15th February 2022.

This is a bug fix release for this useful plugin which creates lightbox style inline popups.

This release removes legacy video / audio fallback support. As a consequence, support for FLV and F4V video types is also removed.
