Joomla! Help Support Warrington Cheshire Manchester Merseyside UKDate: 2 September 2022.

The Joomla! Project has announced that it will continue its policy of issuing a new minor release (example: 4.2.2) every six months.

And it will continue releasing major new versions (example: 5.0) every two years.

Joomla! 4.0 was released in 2021, and so Joomla! 5.0 will be released in 2023, 6.0 in 2025 and so on.

"Having fixed months which are reliable helps everyone plan."

The fourth minor version (example: 4.2.4) will be a "caretaker version, where the focus is on refining the Update Checker, ironing out leftover bugs and producing a stable product as a base for the upcoming major."

The months of release will in future be April and October in order to avoid the summer holidays in both the northern and southern hemispheres.
