JCE 2.9.82 is the latest release of this excellent content editor extension for the Joomla! CMS.

This is a Bug Fix Release which also introduces some useful new features.

This version is compatible with the Joomla! 5 Series and PHP 8.3.

Don't be put off by Security Releases. They show the developer is actively developing their extension.

The extension to worry about is the one which is not in active development.

In its Release Notes for JCE 2.9.52, the developer stated that it included:

  • a fix for a mutation cross-site scripting (mXSS) vulnerability via our friends at Tinymce.

  • improved validation of plugin requests to prevent potential Local File Inclusion exploits.
