Hacker News report that Apple has "released security updates for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, and Safari web browser to address a zero-day flaw that has come under active exploitation in the wild."

A Zero-Day patch is issued issued by a developer when they discover a flaw which has been exploited without their knowledge.

A study of Mac user behaviour entitled:

  • Mac Security Survey 2023: User Awareness and Behavior.

reported some quite astonishing findings.

Example: many users of password manager tools (who are obviously thinking about security) are saving passwords in their browser, perceiving their web browser (Safari, Chrome etc) to be secure.
